Firs Wood (LNR)

A Trafford Local Nature Reserve of approximately 4.3Ha.  Part of the wood  is wet woodland and the remainder former fields that have grown to scrub.  A seasonal ditch runs down the west side..  Trafford Wildlife have removed rhododendron, laurel and are in the process of removing Himalayan balsam.  The removal process started in 2020.  The woodland has a large public footfall so there is significant litter clearance.
